COVID-19 Update

Despite the quarantine & government-mandated shut down of senior centers, our programming staff is hard at work to ensure assistance is reached to seniors. To make sure seniors are fed, we started a home-delivery meal program starting March 23rd, through which thousands of meals are being served to the safety of seniors' homes. We are checking in with all our seniors on a regular basis, providing case management over the phone, and continuously expanding our online class offerings (yoga, meditation, creative aging) which are being accessed globally.

You can support our cause when we need it the most through an online donation. Your contribution will help make sure those in need are served during this crisis, ensure meal & supply delivery is supported and sustained, further establish virtual senior center programming and ensure our goals of equitable, healthy lives for all seniors are achieved. Any contribution makes a difference.

COVID-19 Resources from Equality Labs

With a brilliant team of doctors, translators, and artists, Equality Labs made these COVID-19 Community Guides, available in PDF format, and soon, audiovisual format for people with accessibility needs.

You can find the cards here:

The languages include: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi, Urdu, Nepali, Burmese, Bengali, and Marathi.

This is one of the most in-depth guides of such kind available to people, particularly those who speak these languages. We invite you to share these, and send to anyone who may need them.

Our Mission

India Home is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the needs of the Indian and
larger South Asian senior citizen immigrant community. Started in 2007 by a group of healthcare
professionals, India Home provides social, psychological, recreational, and spiritual services in
a culturally sensitive environment.

What we do

At India Home’s centers, our seniors find community through a diverse range of programs and activities, from educational talks on health and nutrition, financial safeguards and elder law, to trips to museums and parks and advocating for themselves at City Hall. Our seniors sing, do garba, take yoga and art classes. They celebrate July 4th, Diwali, Eid and a host of other festivals. They love dancing- whether it is to Bollywood music or traditional folk songs. Our programs, which are run out of existing senior center facilities and faith-based places, encourage active participation and social interaction.
