Venus of Indian Cinema..!

Since IH is celebrating Valentine’s Day on Monday 23, I am presenting…

A meaningful Valentine’s Day tribute to Madhubala.
As you may know, she was born on Valentine’s Day (February 14, 1933)

Good Morning,

Do you know, based on historical evidence there is no solid proof that a slave girl named

Anarkali who loved Prince Salim actually existed. She is largely considered a legendary or fictional character with her story popularized centuries later in drama literature and films like Mughal-e-Azam. However, actress Madhubala is “forever Anarkali”…

Here, I take great pride in sharing my memorabilia:
1) Mughal-e-Azam poster presented by City of Pune…
2) Same poster with Dadasaheb Phalke Pratishthan award on the festival of 100 Years of Indian Cinema
presented by City of Pune… 3) Madhubala’s original B/W Mughal-e-Azam photo from my collection…

Whatever it is, as the love-stricken courtesan actress Madhubala’s performance was hailed as a “timeless classic,” showcasing both immense emotional depth and unmatched screen beauty. The character’s visual style including the now-famous “Anarkali suit,” became synonymous with Madhubala setting a fashion trend that remains popular today.

“Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya”: Her performance in this legendary song—filmed with 1000 extras—is considered an eternal iconic moment…

And that is why Madhubala is widely remembered as “forever Anarkali”…

Best regards, Jayant.
Sharing is Caring
