Though it is true, No one can tell where they will meet God – भगवान कहाँ मिलेगा यह बताना मुश्किल… Luckily, I did found one place and a person who was like a God. His name was Mr. Amar Singh of ‘Amar Printing & Sign’. The story goes like this…
It’s a story from 20 years ago… while I was doing pro freelance work, I used to do my design and photographic work from Amar’s shop. He was most reliable, trustworthy, do the work/job with quality and always was on time. Besides, he was located newa my home. Not only that, we were from the same Art School from Bombay. isn’t it a small world..?
Anyway, Amar’s office wall was covered by huge ‘God is One’ banner which was designed by him. One fine morning he told me “Mr. Kulkarni, I am going to close my business/shop and relocating midwest next month. Can you do me a small favor, please..?” He gave me almost large size 100 color prints of ‘God is One’and asked me to keep it in Satyanarayan Mandir, Woodside, for the devotees of the temple. I did gave all those prints to Manager of the Mandir and told himto keep it outside for devotees. Guest what, within a week or so all those printsweere gone. I was happy that Punya – Virtue – Merit or Blessedness fell under my care…
PS: As soo he came to know about my hobby, Amar gave me many rare old photographs from Indian films, few extra prints of ‘God is One’ and told me tolisten following song from movie ‘Amar’ for a good reason. You do not need toexplain why… Please listen to one of the best-picturized Hindi songs of Mohd Rafi in 1954 movie‘Amar’, music by Naushad, directed by great Mehboob Khan. Amar (“Immortal”) is a classic 1954 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film, which has many key figures in the film were respectively Muslim. Happy Holidays & Happy New year..!
